Fancy Place is a ticketed, pop-up dinner party inside of The Bagel Shop. It’s a multi-course dining experience for the adventurous soul! Fancy Place is a celebration of classic cookery with modern flavor. We do not accommodate substitutions, as Fancy Place is a celebration of the fine art of cookery. Fancy Place is not for those who pick the onions off of the sandwich!
It has never been just about it bagels for us. Fancy Place is our very special once-a-month party where we show off and have fun. Hospitality and guest experience is equally as important as the food and Fancy Place is an expression of that.
First and foremost, we want to remind people of the lightheartedness and fun of dining together. Too often, the culture of food and beverage is taken too seriously. The name “Fancy Place” is a wink and a nod to the idea of “fine dining” and seeks to challenge the guest’s perception of what “fancy” even means. Pretension is discouraged, unwelcome even, at Fancy Place. We cook the food we love and want to share with people, and we are excited to welcome you into our space to be a part of that. Ultimately we want to showcase our brand of hospitality with our community. Dining isn’t just about putting food on a plate and having a cocktail, it’s much more than that for us. Dining at Fancy Place is sitting back, relaxing, and trusting us that the food is delicious and the service is top tier.
How do reservations work?
We offer reservations in the form of tickets. We sell tickets by the table of two or four. Ticket sales are announced via our email list, which you can sign up for by visiting our website, as well as to our instagram followers. We just hosted our first event and tickets sold out the day they were released, so we encourage our guests to put alerts on instagram and keep eyes open for emails. It can be a bit of a lottery.
Do you have a chef? Who is preparing the food or menu?
Our executive chef is Trevor Papsadora, co-owner of The Bagel Shop, he works along-side sous-chef McNeill Eggart and Pastry Chef Monica Chatterton. Co-owner Myles Roberson curates guest experience and wine selection with the help of Faith Hurtado, Guest Liaison.
